Luray Caverns

Luray Caverns, discovered in 1878, is located just west of Luray, Virginia. The cavern system contains speleothems (cave structures formed by the deposition of minerals from water) such as stalactites, stalagmites, columns, and flowstone. Other attractions at Luray Caverns are the Car and Carriage Caravan Museum, Toy Town Junction, and the Garden Maze.

The path continues to the Wishing Well and a war memorial honoring veterans from Page County. It then ascends up a small passage past the "Fried Eggs" formation and returns to ground level ending at the ubiquitous gift shops. The tour covers about 1.5 miles and can be completed in a litttle under an hour.

Had your fill of spelunking? Then skip on over to the Car and Carriage Caravan Museum for another fantastic experience. This museum has some of the most beautiful and sophisticated antique autos I've ever seen. How about a 1906 Cadillac, or a 1932 Roll-Royce, or even a 1931 Pierce-Arrow? This place has them all.
