Coos Bay, OR

On a recent trip to the northwest I spent the night in Coos Bay before heading north up the Oregon coast. Coos Bay is the largest city on the Oregon coast, with a population of about 16,000. The Marshfield District is the historic central downtown and business district of the city, and contains several buildings listed in the National Register of Historic Places.

Coos Bay Boardwalk

I toured the Coos Bay Boardwalk located on the waterfront before continuing on my trip. The boardwalk has a city dock, bicycling trail and three pavilions featuring historical and interpretive displays. The northern-most pavilion houses a tugboat, the Coos No.2.
